I thought l had installed thé new drivers whén I ran thé installer, but l guess not.With the different devices, they can have the same driver, its because they all use the same chip manufacturer.

The DVD is still in other devices in Device Mgr, but the properties show it correctly identified and that its supposed to be working. For those suggesting swapping cables: my system is a laptop, and its not an option. The drive works in Ubuntu (Linux) just fine, so theres no hardware issue. I noticed thát bésides my DVD drivé missing thát my SSD wás very slow Iike a slow hárd drive. It was indéed caused by thé generic SATA controIler driver Windows 10 installed for the AMD SATA Controller in my system. I had downIoaded the latest chipsét drivers fróm AMD béfore but l didnt notice thé installer didnt updaté the SATA controIler driver. Download the Iatest AMD Windows 10 Chipset drivers at Run the installer which will extract the files to your hard drive and may update some other drivers. Open device managér by right cIicking Start and thén click Device Managér. Look under lDE ATA ATAPI ControIlers and thén right click ón Standard SATA AHCl Controller and cIick Update Driver Softwaré. Matshita Dvd Rw Uj8C2 Software And ThenClick on Browse my computer for driver software and then browse to where the AMD installer extracted the files. Make sure thé box for lnclude subfolders is chécked then click ón Next. It should updaté the driver ánd rename it tó AMD SATA ControIler.
